This weekend was very eventful. I decided on Friday that I would go visit my grandma who live about 2hrs away on Saturday. When I called and told her I coming down she said great, you can help the boys fix the fence the cattle stampeded through last week. I thought, sure, no problem, ya it's gonna be hot but it shouldn't last that more than half the day.
I was so freaking wrong.
The part of the fence the cattle broke through on was in the corral area which has old barbed wire, hedge post and metal panels. They tore up so much of it that we had to replace the whole line. Granted it's not that long of a fence line but we:
a) Had to cut new hedge post to replace the rotten and broken ones and remove them.
b) Remove the old panels and wire. Some panels buried in 6 in. of dirt and grass (not easy).
C) Had to dig new holes for larger newer post that could no go back in the same location as the old post.
D) I had to do all of this in 98°F HEAT with no effing breeze!
The worst part of it all is that we couldn't even get the fence line done.
There are parts of my body that are sore that I didn't even know could be sore. I feel like I'm walking around like the old horror movie zombies.
Oh well that's life. At least I had cold beer for the end of the day when all I could move was my drinking arm.
