God Bless Scotland

by smitty1247 @ 2007-09-26 - 07:33:26

For making such fine liquor as...

macallanglenlivet

I started off finishing the 1/3 I had left of the MacAllan, then started on the Glenlivet.  By the end of the night... 10:00 I was feeling no pain (or my legs... which might explain why I hit the floor) by the time I went to bed.  Oh by the way... the only way to drink Scotch is straight.

Sometimes you just need to let loose.

Emotional Affairs

by smitty1247 @ 2007-09-24 - 15:31:40

I was listening to the radio on the way to work when the DJ was talking about having an emotional affair and would you leave your significant other for the emotional affair. At first I thought this was utterly ridiculous until real people were calling in agreeing with it  . How could someone leave their significant other because of an emotional affair... no hugging, kissing, sex, or romantic weekends. When I say significant other I mean long term relationships (3+ years) or marriage. I understand how emotions play in a relationship and they can be both positive and negative, but at some point in time things have to become physical, the parties involved have to admit that yes we need to be together.

I personally believe that it would need to be a physical and emotional relationship and you had better be damn sure that your making the right decision. Yes, I'm coming down hard on this due to my recent martial problems because I feel that marriages/long-term-relationships are based on the spiritual, physical and emotional involvement in another person and all three need to be there for a healthy relationship. Just leaving, hoping that the other two sides of the relationship will come together is foolish and ignorant. It may work out, it may not, but as it stands you only have a 33% chance of success vs. the 50% (because for the most part that's what your going to lose) you have in your current relationship.

Love is by far the strongest emotion and/ or feeling that a person can have and I am by no means dismissing that. But can that be all that the relationship is based on. Like I said, I am talking about leaving your partner solely on the emotional involvement that you have with someone else.

Yes this is high debatable but inquiring minds want to know.

So blogland what do you think. Would you leave your loved one for another based solely on your emotional attachment to the other person.

P.S. I'm not here to judge... I just want to know how other feel about this.

What is wrong With ME

by smitty1247 @ 2007-09-19 - 14:10:32

I was looking at my previous post and I realized that I am getting stressed out. Blogland... I DO NOT GET STRESSED OUT:##!

Anyway after reading all of these I just took a deep breath, had some coffee and decided that it is just another day and I need to relax. Then wall-ah I started to feel better. This evening I am going to go home, do chores and work the dogs for a while to help clear my head, then have a small glass of scotch and go to bed after calling my wife and telling her goodnight. Sounds like a plan.

Cheers,

Sam

Hump Day

by smitty1247 @ 2007-09-19 - 13:34:00

Here it is Wednesday, the middle of the week where you think you have a downward slide :D. But oh no, it is truly the day when you realize you have so much work to do by Friday :## that it is a mad dash to the weekend. If it was not for a remolding of my test lab I doubt I would be this busy, but you never know. I barely have time to blog... ug :'(

Ready for the Weekend

by smitty1247 @ 2007-09-14 - 09:42:27

I need this break. I've got to get my car worked on, need to get new mobiles for the wife and I just need to relax. Next week I'm going to start on several big projects so I've got to get my head screwed on right.

Management

by smitty1247 @ 2007-09-13 - 11:00:13

I have been working in the test lab today and I just sat back down at my desk when the engineering manager comes up to me and says he is ready to review drawings and revisions to a liquid pump system. I politely ask for a few minutes and he gets irate. I tell him I'm on break and to come back in 15. Good thing he is not my manager, because my manager did show up to and told him to come back in 15 as well . G, my manager told me to use more tack with him, but understood when he say my face cover in dust. This week is taking to long.... hurry up 4:00 Friday, darn it.

She's Going Home

by smitty1247 @ 2007-09-08 - 08:55:38

Good news everyone, Kathy is finally able to go home from the hospital today (Saturday):DD. It has been 2 weeks since she has seen true daylight. Her parents have got things set up for her at their house, where she will stay because she can not be alone. I am relieved. Home health will come by once or twice a week to check on her incision. It will be nice to get to sleep in the same bed as well.

THANK GOD IT'S FFFRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIDAAAAAAAAAYYYY

by smitty1247 @ 2007-09-07 - 07:25:34

If you have been keeping up with my post, you undoubtegly know about what is going on in my life.  It has been darn near unbearable to work take care of the farm and take care of Kathy.  Believe me it is not because I don't like to do it, but by the end of the day I am exhuasted.  So Friday is here and now I can devote my time to Kathy and doing pidley stuff.    Doctors say that Kathy might be able to go home on Monday, maybe Tuesday.  I am incredibly proud of Kathy for the progress she has made and how strong she has been.  It will be nice to have her home.

Awnry Damn Cows

by smitty1247 @ 2007-09-02 - 21:23:20

I have commercial Angus/ Shorthorn/ Semintal cattle that are human and bucket broke.  I was walking out in the pasture to feed before I went to the hospital to stay with Kathy and before I got the gate shut and turned around 3 of my yearling heifers had me surrounded and wanted that bucket.  As soon as I was trying to scare them away (which did not work), it stirred up the interest of our other cattle and they came a-runnin.  I can't open the gate now so I start swearing at them (more for my benefit) and that does nothing.  So I yell for Casey (my border collie), she comes running and bites the heifer still trying to get in the bucket squarely on the nose.  I flank her around and drive the cows off and clear me a path to the bunk.  Point of the story.... don't go to work without all of your tools.
